At the end of your beautiful walk around the lake, treat yourself: go to Poiroux and visit La Folie de Finfarine which is a walk in the world of bees. Giant hive, honey collection, films about bees, ... lots of wonders that delight young and old and an excellent Vendée honey in the shop.

This old building is the ruin of an old spinning mill which produced wool in the 1860s. It only had a short life as the spinning mill ceased to operate in the 1870s. It was demolished and the stones were used for the construction of the Château de Rosnay, located nearby.

Located off the main thoroughfares, this picturesque little village has managed to preserve its built heritage. And in particular the Château Gaillard (built in the 19th century), a neo-medieval construction desired by Abbé Rouillon. This brick and granite monument was actually his presbytery: it is now the property of the town hall, which has chosen to install the post office and a library there.
