The exterior of the fort is well preserved, and its small woods are pleasant and shady.

This parish church was enlarged and renovated during the 18th century. It has very beautiful stained glass windows made by Nicod and Jubin in the early 1920s-1930s. Do not hesitate to pass the step of the door to see these scenes of history.

Fort Montcorin was responsible for controlling the Rhone valley as well as access to Saint-Etienne. It is now used by associations of the town and a caretaker lives there. The maintenance carried out by the Henri-Durand association makes it possible to highlight the elements of the fort.

Historically this fort covered the communes of Chaponost and Brignais. Today it is a place of remembrance for the 120 people killed on the spot by the Germans before evacuating Lyon. The tour of the Fort is pleasant and offers on its southern slope a great view of Saint-Genis-Laval below.
