Extremely beautiful and if I didn’t have a dog would have definitely followed this path. “Unfortunately” I did have a dog with me and was too tricky holding the rope with one hand and the dog with another; pretty steep. So maybe not for dogs and small children. However, there’s a parallel path underneath which you can easily follow and pick up the original walk again. Not as pretty though 😊

Located in the Bouissière forest, the Gastée dolmen stands in the center of a 16 m diameter mound under oaks and pines

The building is located on top of a small hill. It was excavated in 1948 by René Gérard and later by Georges Bérard. The tumulus, made up of stones, measures 16 m in diameter for a height of between 1 m and 1.30 m. Four orthostats and a dry stone wall delimit an almost square sepulchral chamber, itself separated into two parts along a north-south axis by a small vertical slab. A circle 32 cm in diameter and 5 cm deep was carved by bush-hammering on the upper part of the north pillar of the entrance2. The corridor, 1.60 m long, is materialized by two orthostats and opens to the west. All the slabs were taken from the dolomitic outcrop located to the south of the building. At the end of the excavation, the building was partially restored and the cover table was put back in place.
