Nice village with an old castle

As you climb the challenging Col de la Croix du Ban, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the city of Lyon. This iconic vantage point offers stunning views of the city’s skyline, with its historic buildings, modern skyscrapers, and the confluence of the Rhone and Saone rivers.

Rochebonne Castle was razed in 1363 and rebuilt during the 17th century. The view of the Beaujolais vineyards is superb from the castle courtyard.

The Col de Malval, in the Monts du Lyonnais, rises to an altitude of 732 metres. Even though the climb is mainly through forest, a few clearings allow you to enjoy the views of Lyon and the Alps.

This short descent takes place among the trees. It is a winding path that winds through a dense forest. The path, lined with lush vegetation, invites you to take on a little mountain bike challenge.
