The church of St. Gallen was first mentioned in Mackwiller in the 15th century. From 1697 to 1897, the church was mixed, until the construction of the current parish church of St. Gallen. It was built on the site of an ancient Roman building from the 3rd century. The choir is surmounted by a bell tower built in the 15th century from ancient materials. After a fire during the Second World War, the church was rebuilt in 1842 and then in 1958.

The small town with only about 700 inhabitants dates back to at least the 11th century. A short detour from the main street is worthwhile if you are interested in the town's history and historical architecture. Behind the town gate you can see a place whose proud buildings do not really fit in with the size of the village - somehow strange.

When you drive through the old city gate, you feel transported back to times long past. It is an impressive picture when approaching the city tour.

The facades and roofs listed as Historic Monuments. Chapel and listed helical staircase. Relaxation area nearby.

It is a historical stone table that is said to have been used in wood auctions in the past. There is a shelter right next to it, so the place is good for resting.
