Tour of Lake Ribou completed on August 1, 2025. I'd had it on my radar for years. A beautiful lake that provides fresh water to Cholet residents' taps. 11 km on a green-marked trail. Worth a look for its viaduct and numerous blackberry hedges.

Bellefontaine Abbey is a Cistercian monastery founded in 1120. You can admire the ancient architecture and the statue of the Virgin Mary donated by Pope Clement V. You can also explore the surrounding countryside, where you will find orchards, farms and woods. The Château des Hayes Gasselin in Beaupréau-en-Mauges is a medieval castle built in the 14th century and destroyed by the Republicans in 1794. You can still see the remains of the fortress and its chapel, surrounded by a moat. Enjoy the panoramic views and peaceful atmosphere of this ancient place.

There are playgrounds and places to eat at the lake. Water sports are possible on the lake, but swimming is unfortunately prohibited.
