The Canal de Huningue (German: Hüninger Zweigkanal,[2] Hüningen-Kanal) was a shipping canal in the French region of Grand Est, completed in 1828, which ran from the Rhine near Huningue to the Rhine-Rhône Canal near Mulhouse. Lovely little cafe called Wilson very near to Kembs. Do a great coffee and cake.

You can ride over the water hydro dam. There is a cafe about 1/2 km along the road.

Riding onto the bridge from the German side is a lot better then coming onto it from the French side. The French side has a sharp bend. There is a lift to use, but I have never seen anyone in it.

The EDF hydroelectric power plant in Kembs, located on the Grand Canal d'Alsace, is an impressive site. On the banks of the Rhine, this power plant, which plays a key role in the production of renewable energy, is surrounded by paths ideal for discovery. Along the banks, walkers can observe the power of water while enjoying magnificent views of the river and the surrounding natural areas, including the Petite Camargue Alsacienne reserve.

Hydroelectric power station and large locks - Kembs Built between 1928 and 1932, it is the first hydroelectric power station to be built on the Franco-German Rhine. The Kembs dam feeds the Grand Canal d'Alsace. It regulates the amount of water in the Rhine and keeps the Grand Canal d'Alsace at a quasi-constant level. (www.visit.alsace)
