The apostle "Saint-JACQUES", to whom this church in Locquirec was dedicated, belongs, together with his brother, to the inner circle of Jesus' disciples. According to the Acts of the Apostles written by the evangelist Luke, James was executed for his faith, making him an early martyr of Christianity. His grave in the place named after him, "Santiago de Compostela" (Galicia, Spain), is one of the most famous and important pilgrimage destinations in the world.
