The Hohen Viecheln bathing area is located on the northern shore of Lake Schwerin. It features a very large lawn for sunbathing, offering space for games and sports. A jetty leads into the water. The shore is sandy and gently sloping.

Today the castle ensemble belongs to the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is used by, among others, an art association and the State Office for Monument Preservation.

Riding bicycles in the castle gardens is prohibited. Even pushing bicycles is prohibited there. You can park your bikes at the bus stop. Or at the cafe. Why someone here is copying and pasting 8 times and thus posting 8 tips is anyone's guess.

The town owes its name "Bad" to the former hydrotherapy facility in 1915. Due to the existing electrification and its location on Lake Schwerin, the Bad Kleinen Mill Works were established in 1916. Bad Kleinen looks back on a varied history. https://www.mein-bad-kleinen.de/historisches-bad-kleinen/#:~:text=Der%20damaligen%20Wasserheilanstalt%20verdankt%20der,auf%20eine%20avielfalte%20Geschichte%20zur%C3%BCck. In Bad Kleinen stands a large old mill that produced first-class flour. When the Treuhand (Treuhand) took over, the business was closed. The site is now owned by a real estate group.
