Great spot, really friendly, very helpful staff. BUT - call ahead to make a reservation if you want to eat their food (though I saw people using tables, with their own food). AND - take cash if you've planned to eat there (they don't take cards).

Located at the end of the Valgaudemar valley, the Clot chalet is at the crossroads of the Oisans, Vieux Chaillol and Valgaudemar towers. The refuge is guarded from mid-June to mid-September. However, it is possible to stay there outside of this period in unguarded mode. In season you can enjoy good dishes there!

Located at the foot of the south-east face of Olan, the summit of Vallon and La Rouye, the Olan refuge accommodates up to 10 people. The refuge is unguarded, however you will find what you need there: duvets and blankets, gas, a stove, dishes and candles. Please note, the refuge does not have heating or running water but a torrent is nearby.

Don't hesitate to stop at this refuge for lunch (reservations recommended). The vegetarian menu or the charcuterie platter are excellent and the staff is super friendly.
