The name "Schöne Aussicht" (Beautiful View) of this place says it all. That's precisely why Florian Fraaß from Bad Berneck won a Bavaria-wide photo competition with a picture of this spot in 2023. You have a beautiful view of the old town (upper town) of Bad Berneck. From there, it's very nice to take the zigzag path down into the spa gardens (surefootedness required) or walk along the Thiesenring.

The road from the Bad Berneck market square up to Gefrees is the old B2. A very scenic route. Unfortunately, it is very popular with motorcyclists at weekends. If everything is closed in Bad Berneck early on Sunday morning, there is the Aral petrol station on the B 303. It is open from 8 a.m. on Sundays.

The Ölschnitz invites all four-legged friends to take a short rest and cool down.

The Ludwigsfelsen is one of the viewing points on the Thiesenring. You can rest on the bench and let your gaze wander over the Ölschnitztal to the castles and to Bad Berneck. Not far away are other beautiful places to linger, including the pavilion on the Thiesenfelsen, the poets' and artists' bench and the Jean-Paul-Platz.
