On the Etang des Forges, the forges of Paimpont are a remarkable industrial site. In 1656, the forges were set up in the heart of the forest of Paimpont. They then have three riches: iron, water and wood. The activity lasted until the 20th century when, overtaken by foreign competition, the site closed. Today, the forges are open to the public and their mission is to safeguard this great industrial heritage.
