Before this rocky cross, a brief thought from Pope Francis, who passed away on Easter Monday this year. Although he was unable to participate in the traditional Stations of the Cross with the Holy Father at the Colosseum in Rome on Good Friday 2025 due to health reasons, he posed the following question in his meditation on the occasion: "Where are we on Golgotha? Beneath the cross? At a distance? Far away? Or perhaps, like the apostles, we are no longer here." He then continues his meditation: "You breathe, and this breath, the last and the first, longs only to be received. Lord Jesus, lead us to your gift. Do not let your breath of life dissipate."

The Taschnerfelsen is a rock face near Neuhaus, a district of Aufseß in the Bayreuth district of Bavaria. It is designated as a geotope and natural monument. The rock is a popular rock face among climbers. Note for climbers: Too many climbers use the areas in the immediate vicinity of the wall to climb. This has caused so much discontent among local residents that there is now talk of closing the wall. Therefore, please only park in the designated areas and accept a longer walk!

On the road from Aufseß to Hollfeld, in the district of Sachsendorf, there is a beautiful little chapel. It is especially worth a visit in the evening, when the light of the setting sun breaks through the glass mosaic at the back of the chapel and the interior shines in an impressive light. At Easter time, the women of the village decorate an Easter fountain right next to the chapel with around 500 self-painted eggs.

The picturesque rock village of Krögelstein in the northern Franconian Switzerland is embedded in the narrow valley of the Kaiserbach. The fields are on the heights and the meadows in the upper and lower valleys. Above a narrow rocky gorge below the church, the arch of an old wall arches, the remains of the castle of the Knights of Crogelstein. In July 1523, soldiers of the Swabian League set fire to the castle and placed four tons of gunpowder under the large watchtower, which lifted it out of the ground and caused it to fall into the ditch. The village's landmark is the "Alte Fritz", a 30m high dolomite rock. Other landmarks include the "Schwedenfelsen" and the "Löwenfelsen", which has the shape of a lying lion.
