This sublime road lets you sneak along the Loire. If the road is laid out, however, be careful because the cars driving on it can drive fast.

Who dreams of having a pleasure castle, just to change their minds on the weekend? Well, that's what the Polignac family allowed themselves! This line is still current and the current Duke of Polignac stays there from time to time. The building dominates the river and impresses with its majestic architecture. The castle dates from the Middle Ages but has been remodeled over the centuries.

we head north along the Loire to get to Lyon and finish our 3000km tour of the south of France (see Collection). Beautiful landscape, because the Loire torments itself here through a narrow rocky valley. The main road has a shoulder, but unfortunately the hard shoulder for bikes is interrupted again and again at narrow rocky sections and disappears completely. Not pleasant when there is a lot of traffic here.
