Road along the coast is sometimes quite scenic. 😅 OK for MTB and gravel.

A river hike through the Fango Valley (near Galéria) is pure adventure. In places the path leads along the rocks and then through deep pools. The pools, filled with clear, refreshing fresh water, are always perfect for a swim while hiking. There are a number of great places to swim along the Fango River. A day in the Fango Valley is an ideal change from the beach, especially for families. Equipped with plenty of drinks, baguettes, sausage, fruit, etc., the day can be spent pleasantly. The river is fairly easy to access from the road everywhere and is therefore also highly recommended for families with small children.

The D81b is probably one of the most beautiful roads in Corsica. The condition of the asphalt surface is probably more suitable for MTB and gravel bikes than for racing bikes ;-)

The municipalities of Lunghignano and Montemaggiore merged in 1972 to form the municipality of Saint-Rainier-de-Balagne. Saint-Rainier-de-Balagne was merged with Cassano on 1 January 1973 to form the municipality of Montegrosso, named after the Monte Grosso mountain range.

Montegrosso consists of the villages of Montemaggiore/Montemaiò as the main town (381 m), Cassano/Cassani (300 m) and Lunghignano/Lunghignani (340 m). The municipality is located at about 400 meters above sea level and borders Lavatoggio to the north, Cateri and Avapessa to the northeast, Muro to the east, Zilia to the southeast, Calenzana to the southwest, Calvi to the west and Lumio to the northwest.

There is extremely heavy traffic on the T30 but there is an almost continuous bicycle lane.

Montegrosso (Corsican: Montegrossu) is a municipality on the French island of Corsica. It belongs to the region of Corsica, the department of Haute-Corse, the arrondissement of Calvi and the canton of Calvi. Depending on the district, the residents call themselves Montemaggiorais, Lunghignanais, Cassanais, Montemaiuracci, Lunghignaninchi or Cassaninchi.

Calvi is located 95 km from Bastia and 24 km from L'Île-Rousse on the Gulf of Calvi. The city consists of the lower town, where the town hall, the market square and the important marina are located, and the upper town, which is dominated by the governor's palace and the citadel.
