The village of Lutzelbourg offers an ideal setting for cycling, whatever the discipline. Accessible by train with your bike, it then allows you to cycle peacefully on the cycle path of the Éclusiers valley, or to venture out on a mountain bike on the first slopes of the Vosges mountains.

MAGNIFICENT COURSE TO RECOMMEND

The wooden flooring is a bit dated. It's a very complex construction.

For centuries, the residence of the Strasbourg bishops stood here. The previous building burned down in the 18th century, and when the French Revolution broke out, only the shell of this building was completed. Thus, it was never used for its original purpose. Since then, it has served various purposes: barracks, living space, town hall... Today, it houses a primary school, the youth hostel, the city museum, a large event hall, the "Espace Rohan," and four additional theater and event halls.

I love coming here to Saverne. The town has such a wonderful atmosphere.

One of the most beautiful sections of the trip: the disused canal, rendered useless by the boat lift. Every few hundred meters, there's a lock with an idyllic lock-keeper's cottage along a gently sloping bike path.
