Saint CECILE, to whom this church in the town of the same name was dedicated, is primarily responsible for good sound in the large circle of saints - if one can put it so casually here - because she is the patron saint of church music. Many religious choirs are named after her. The dates of her life from the corresponding saint's legend are not historically confirmed, but she is said to be a martyr from the beginning of the third century. The patron saint's feast day, i.e. her memorial day in the calendar of saints, is on November 22nd in all major Christian denominations.

It was built in the 15th century after the destruction of a first castle on the orders of the King of France, who belonged to the Mâcon region, and who was fighting against the Duke of Burgundy. Located on the hillside, between two hamlets, it is a castle whose buildings are grouped together and form a quadrilateral around a central courtyard. The entrance is framed by two round towers pierced by archers, and was formerly equipped with a drawbridge. It will serve as a hotel, the guest rooms are almost finished.

The Sainte-Cécile parish church is one of the oldest buildings in the region. It consists of a single nave, a narrow bay and a wider semi-circular apse, pierced with two windows, to the east and west, with stained glass windows, signed M. Bouillot. Very pretty !

Friendly and pretty, fairly rolling hill apart from a few slightly higher percentages at the start, decent surface overall, and little traffic. It allows you to avoid the dangerous departmental road to go west from Cluny.

This part of the path which evolves on the ridges, offers splendid views of landscapes which become more and more wooded and wild.

On the Butte de Suin you have a wonderful panoramic view over the country. Easy to reach by car (A smaller parking lot at the restaurant, a big something behind). At the observation deck is an information board, so you can assign the individual hills. Furthermore, a generous green area invites you to camp. On an information board four trails are described, from 2 to 15 kilometers in length. We made the S2 with 5 kilometers, nice, but the majority is on tarmac.
