몽트레소르 성은 사실상 두 번 태어났습니다. 외관상으로는 하나의 성처럼 보이지만, 두 개의 세계로 이루어져 있습니다: 11세기 중세 요새; 16세기 우아한 르네상스 저택. 그래서 말 그대로 거의 1000년의 역사를 거닐게 됩니다. 지역 전설에 따르면 몽트레소르라는 이름은 '보물의 산'을 의미하는 'mont du trésor'에서 유래했습니다. 언덕에 숨겨진 보물이 있었다고 합니다. 정말 그럴까요? 아마도 그렇지 않겠지만... 중세 성에는 당연히 보물 이야기가 따르기 마련입니다.

Today the chateau functions as a hotel/restaurant – nice surroundings, good food, very friendly staff, and still at acceptable prices.
