A cute little market square with a pretty town hall!

The Sainte-Aulde viewpoint, located a few steps from the Noisetiers primary school and the church, reveals an exceptional panorama of the valley below and the old sand pits of Méry-sur-Marne, thus offering a unique moment of contemplation.

Initiated in the Romanesque period, from which it has preserved its porch and capitals, the church of Sainte-Aulde bears witness to the various styles that have succeeded one another in the rural world, having been reworked in the Gothic period and then in the classical period. The stained glass windows from the end of the 19th century were made in particular by Gustave Bourgeois, a worker on the stained glass window of Saint Colomban in Ussy. St Fiacre, patron saint of gardeners/market gardeners, of whom there is a 15th century statue in the church, is honored there every first Sunday in September.

The Croix Barrée is a unique calvary located in the commune of Sainte-Aulde. It offers a breathtaking view of the Marne Valley and the picturesque hamlet of Moitiébard, adding a touch of serenity to this already exceptional site.

Astonishment! This is the feeling that dominates when discovering GALLERIA CONTINUA / Les Moulins, near Boissy-le-Châtel. A contemporary art gallery that follows in the footsteps of its renowned Italian, Chinese and Cuban sites... GALLERIA CONTINUA / Les Moulins has two sites, which are located in former paper mills. Located in Boissy-le-Châtel, in the Grand Morin valley near Coulommiers, the Moulin de Boissy, at 46 rue de la Ferté Gaucher, and the Moulin de Sainte-Marie, at 48 rue des Papeteries, have a rich history whose first written traces date back to the 14th century. Guided by the rhythm of the seasons, GALLERIA CONTINUA / Les Moulins hosts several times a year projects and exhibitions of monumental works by artists from five continents. Since 2007, the Moulin de Boissy site, a renovated former factory of 10,000 m2, has embraced its new artistic life with, for its first three years of activity, 30,000 visitors from all over the world. In 2010, Galleria Continua took on a new challenge by acquiring the former Sainte-Marie paper mill, one kilometer from the Moulin de Boissy. The Moulin de Sainte-Marie extends over 15 hectares with 30,000 m2 of built surface area. Each space has its own function and therefore benefits from architectural and spatial individuality and hosts in situ projects by international artists such as Etel Adnan, Kader Attia, Daniel Buren, Subodh Gupta, Anish Kapoor, Kiki Smith, and many others. Every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Exceptionally closed on January 1st, May 1st, July 14th and December 25th. Doorbell on the building at the entrance.

On September 5, 1914, nearly a million French soldiers and their British allies, defeated fighters from the deadly border battles, exhausted by an exhausting retreat, resolutely turned around and resumed the offensive! This would be the first Battle of the Marne, a victory at the cost of 7 days of fierce fighting on a front line of more than 200 kilometers, breaking the German rush, protecting Paris and saving France from invasion. La Ferté-sous-Jouarre was one of the theaters of this fighting. On Sunday, November 4, 1928, the inauguration of the Memorial took place, in the presence of Marshal Foch. This imposing monument bears, engraved in stone, 3,888 names of officers and soldiers who fell during this battle in September 1914. These men belonged to the British Expeditionary Force.
