an impressive rocky landscape right on the bike path

Ollans Castle was built in the 18th century. It is surrounded by a vast garden bordered by the river, and decorated with two statues from the 1740s representing Diana and Apollo. It belonged to Charles Derosne, a beekeeping enthusiast and friend of Sully Prudhomme. It is also in this castle that the writer composed his first collection of poetry, Le Bonheur. The castle cannot be visited these days, but it is a great place to take a photo.

A solid bridge over the Ognon River with a beautiful view of the river and the riparian forest (all of the wooded, bushy and herbaceous formations present on the banks of a watercourse). The Ognon crosses four departments: Côte-d'Or, Doubs, Jura, Haute-Saône.

Just a water pumping station

At the top of these cliffs, the Saut de Gamache belvedere overlooks the Doubs valley. It allows you to discover Baume-les-Dames nestled between the hills and the village of Esnans below.

The village is located on the right bank of the Doubs, in a deep valley. Limestone rocks dug out of caves dominate the river. At the foot of the cliff, an underground river from Verne and Luxiol comes out in the form of a resurgence. Source of water is typical for this karst region, as are the impressive cliffs that are attracting climbers from all over the world to play.
