Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Resort Paris – Disneyland Park is a steel roller coaster by Vekoma that opened in 1995 under the name Space Mountain – De la terre à la lune (French for From the Earth to the Moon). The train is launched with a kind of cannon, like in Jules Verne's novel From the Earth to the Moon. An electric cable acceleration system with a sliding mechanism under the train is used to accelerate the train to 71 km/h. For its 10th birthday, it was given a new story, new effects and a new soundtrack. From April 9, 2005 to May 7, 2017, it ran under the name Space Mountain: Mission 2. Since 2017, the roller coaster has been given a Star Wars theme and is called Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain.
