This circuit starting from the beautiful little village of Artigue, will take you directly to the Saunères cabin. All along the route, you will walk with a breathtaking view of the balconies of Luchonnais. You will also overlook the city of Luchon and it is not uncommon to share this beautiful circuit with mountain bike enthusiasts.

This cabin, typical of the Pyrenean mountains, offers an ideal place to stop in the shade or to spend the night. It is installed on a balcony, allowing you to admire the Luchonnais chain. As for equipment, you will find a few pans and a wooden chest with blankets. Four or five people can easily sleep there: two beds with mattresses on the ground floor, plus three beds on the floor upstairs.

This stopover lodge is open all year round. It offers ten dormitory places and two single rooms. You can find a restaurant in the direct vicinity of the gîte.

After a tough climb on the GR 10 we find ourselves facing the Haut Luchonnais. From the ridges, you overlook the Val d'Aran.

At the end of the forest road from the Col de Menté is a Sheepfold and a refuge. The animals are free during the day and take shelter in the evening. It is impressive to see the sheepdog leading the flock.

The refuge and the Lac d'Araing of the same name are very beautiful. Bivouac possible in the tent below the refuge. Evening repas as usual in the refuge. Swimming in the lake is one thing. If you hold or place your feet in the lake, you can get the fish peeling here for free. Tel: +33 5 61 96 73 73
