Magnificent village in Aubrac and starting point for hiking in the heart of Aubrac

Magnificent village where I was warmly welcomed by Ricou at the hotel restaurant bar on the square. Despite the late hour I was treated to a great meal tray in my room and the next morning the conversation around a very good French breakfast. Great memorable moment 🤗

An ancient commune in the Aubrac region of Lozere, it's a picturesque village to grab a coffee and cake in one of its cafés before heading back up into the hills.

Saint-Geniez-d'Olt is a former French commune located in the department of Aveyron, in the Occitanie region, which became, on January 1, 2016, a commune delegated to the new commune of Saint-Geniez-d'Olt-et- from Aubrac

The town is a paradise for nature activities due to its location on the edge of the Lot and at the foot of Aubrac. It also enjoys a beautiful architectural heritage with the cloister of the convent, its church and private mansions. In short, it is a pleasant place for a break.

Saint-Geniez-d'Olt is a pretty village on the banks of the Lot on the southern edge of Aubrac.

This small road in front of you climbs to the hamlet of Monjézieu, where you can already see its magnificent castle. This bastion seems impregnable seen from the Lot.

Banassac is a neighboring village of La Canourgue. The village actually bears the name of Banassac-Canilhac since it was recently attached to the neighboring town of Canilhac. The city center is very pleasant in this village which was once the second largest municipality in Lozère. Its prosperity was due to the ceramic and pottery workshops. Artisans and exhibitions perpetuate the transmission and ancestral know-how.
