🏞️ View of the limestone lake in Holdorf The lake is a former limestone quarry, whose steep banks, wooded slopes, and often turquoise water create a charming, almost canyon-like landscape. The "Baumelbank" (a bench with a tree-like structure) offers a beautiful view of the lake from an elevated position.

✨ The village square in Langenberg is located in the Handorf-Langenberg district, which belongs to the municipality of Holdorf (Vechta district). Although the square is not always explicitly marked as a "village square" on maps, it is used by the village community as a central meeting place and event venue.

This is actually the Damme–Holdorf railway cycle path. But it's also good for running.

The indirect evidence of settlement continues with the megalithic tombs. The photographic, textual, and sketch documentation in the city museum primarily shows the so-called "Hünengrab" (large stone tomb) in Neuenwalde, which dates back to the Neolithic period and represents the burial site of an extended family. Moving and stacking such huge and heavy boulders reveals an extremely high level of effort, which was only undertaken because the settlements were nearby and the tomb had been occupied for generations.
