This is the ridge route to Pen y Fan from the north. A fine route that steepens sharply near the top.

Cribyn is the smallest of the Brecon's 'big Three, but it is a shapely top and should be included in any climb up here.

When coming off the mountain to go down towards the car park it’s quite a steep scramble and can be slippery

Fantastic views from the top. Just take your time and don’t burn those legs out too soon.

Completed on a cold, icy morning. Even though sun was on this section - there were some very slippy areas, so proceed with caution. Otherwise generally good climb

A strenuous, circular and straight forward up and down routes to theses mountain walks all on well-made footpaths to the summit of Pen y Fan and Corn Du in the Brecon Beacons. If weather permits, you can enjoy views of the town of Brecon and on a good day, the summit of Cadair Idris. A moderate climb with steep steps near the summit. Dogs should be kept on close lead. Uneven surface and narrow paths throughout the trail.

Gap Road. This was the first track to enable horse-drawn carriages to cross the mountain range. It's thought to be a Roman road, although no archaeological evidence has been found as yet. This section is usually used in hiking, mountaineering, biking ultra runners rewards with amazing views of the national park. Recommend parking at the Upper Neuadd.
