The rectangular tower was built around 1300. The round tower and central section were built around 1450 and flank a pointed-arch passageway. The round tower features a projecting battlement. The more elaborate design of the round tower, the central section, and the top of the rectangular structure corresponds to the construction period around 1450 and was probably initiated by Stephan Buxtehude, to whom the Uenglinger Gate in Stendal and the Elbe Gate in Werben are attributed. The round tower is decorated with glazed bricks arranged in spiral or zigzag patterns, a molded stone frieze depicting the head of Medusa, and varied blind decorations. Disastrous bridge – Thanks to the push assistance, I was able to get my bike up easily, but going down was no fun for me alone with the heavy e-bike and thick tires. Luckily, I had just started and still had strength in my arms. Very steep, the tires (Johnny Watts) barely fit into the rail... The front wheel popped out of the rail on the way down, and I almost fell down the stairs with my bike. Something like that on an official bike path, with the intersection right next to it... I wasn't expecting that. Shouldn't be tackled alone, completely unsuitable for cargo bikes. This section can be bypassed via the country road between Neuderben and Parey.

Taking your bike with you costs €3.60 - but you can get to the other side of the river really quickly and easily.
