Charming village. A lovely loop from Visp via Bürchen, Eischoll to Turtmann, and then along the Rhone on the side road via Gampel / Steg back to Visp.

This spectacular suspension bridge lies quite modestly behind a construction fence. Yet it has nothing to hide. Not only is the view from here impressive, but so is the structure itself, with its glass viewing platform and impressive counterweight below. At home, you'd have to shell out €12 for that. It's recommended to include the bridge in the beautiful and varied 4km circular hike from/to Unterbäch. You can't do more than that in a 4km hike.

The cobbled streets of Niedergesteln are well worth a visit on your hike. The church is nestled into the cliffs just above the old farming village.

At the bottom of the Rhone Valley, while the river is still called Rotten here, a small pond reinforces the rural character of the place. This is the Baggilla, a pleasant place to rest after having faced the steep slopes of the surrounding mountains.
