The Mischabelhütte, built at an altitude of 3,340 meters, is the third highest hut in Switzerland and the starting point for the high peaks of the Mischabels and Nadelgrat. Located between the Hohbalm and Fall glaciers, it is visible from Saas Fee and virtually the entire route. The building of today's Saas Museum is the former rectory of Saas-Fee, which was built in 1732. In 1855, another floor was added. In 1983, this typical old Saas house was opened as the Saas Museum on the initiative of local historian Werner Imseng.
