The Wine Route, ideal for a wine tourism outing in the Valais Vineyard. The Vineyard Cycle Route is also a very nice option (Ps I have a collection on this subject)

The Sion Islands, a nice place for a short break by the water, camping nearby for Bikepackers

Fantastic recreational area around a lake. Great for swimming, running, picnics, BBQ or just relaxing. Adventure Parc, mini golf, restaurant, petit train for kids. Lots of space, shadow, toilets. And the best - free entry and always open.

Great cycle path along the Rhone

A winding road, winding through the vineyards of the Rhone Valley, an important part of the region's image and history. This and surrounding roads are at the foot of the valley, meaning they are gentle and flat - a welcome change from many of the passes and climbs in the area.

Very beautiful cycle path along the Rhône and passing next to the superb lake of the Domaine des Iles. Very nice passage to find a portion of dish in the corner.

Very nice little town in the Swiss Alps, not far from Sion. Surrounded by the mountains and vineyards, the ski resorts are not far, with some big cycling climbs accessible in the summer months.

A perhaps welcome stop after the climb from Ardon which can be tough in the heat and headwind on certain days.
