Formerly fortified around a castle, this defensive place made it possible to repel attacks by French armies in the 16th century and then by Spanish troops in the 18th century. Now dominated by a church built on the ruins of the old castle, the village is renowned for being one of the sunniest in France. Largely pedestrianized, dotted with artisan boutiques, restaurants and shops, Eus (around 400 inhabitants) is a member of the association of the most beautiful villages in France.

A gradual climb on the good paved road! It was climbed during the 15th stage of the Tour de France in 2021! To do out of season because the road can be very busy (even if there is a deflection on the side)

Beautiful mountain village surrounded by vineyards. I can definitely recommend the red wine grown here, delicious!

You can enter it from the south side. It's like a small village on the inside. With café and touristic things. Probably a good lunch/coffee spot.
