Little oasis of peace!

As early as the beginning of the 18th century, Bischofszell was a rose town. Beautiful Baroque gardens gave the small town a unique splendor. The splendor of earlier years has been revived, and today numerous public rose gardens have been newly created.

Recently, there has been a beautifully designed viewing point down to the Thur at the top of the pass, with benches.

Historical paper machine, Bischofszell The J.M. Voith company built the PM1, a powerful machine that was designed for a working width of 2200 millimeters and 10,000 kilograms/24 hours. It was able to produce a whole range of products from cardboard to crepe paper, which enabled enormous flexibility in the range. Powered by just a single electric motor, the entire machine was set in motion by a sophisticated system of leather transmission belts. The PM1 was in production until 1991. The 223-ton, 37-meter-long machine shows the process steps of paper production in a rare clarity.
