One of the most beautiful places in Ariège. Whether you come in winter on snowshoes or in summer, the ponds are always as beautiful and impressive!

This refuge is located in the middle of the Bassiès cirque, at an altitude of 1,650 meters. The refuge has dormitories and rooms with single beds. It is also possible to bivouac on the lawns surrounding the refuge. You can even rent tents and mattresses. The refuge also offers a catering service available for all three meals.

Montreal de Sos contains several caves. Including “Grotte du Campanal”. A painting was discovered in part of the cave in the 1930s…. the idea that the "grail fortress" of the Cathars stood here was born. The painting has been updated, but very nice. A little next to it is a cave / cavern accessible. You can descend a bit into it, but not without a flashlight On the other side are the caves “grota de las femnas” (the women's cave) and the “grotta dels omes”; or the “man cave”.
