The village is dominated by its 13th century castle, remodeled in the 15th century, where the lords of Roquefeuil lived, and by its 11th century Romanesque church, both listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. Old blast furnaces and mills recall the town's industrial past. The town is crossed by the Briolance, a first category river and tributary of the Lémance.

Blanquefort-sur-Briolance is an interesting village. Here you will find two examples of imposing monuments. First of all, there is the very beautiful fortified castle overlooking the village. It is especially the Notre-Dame church that attracts attention. This Romanesque church is really reminiscent of a fortress: defense tower, high walls, small windows. We came to take refuge there in case of trouble.

Sauveterre-la-Lémance is an interesting village in more ways than one. The prehistoric deposit of the Martinet located in the town gave its name to a prehistoric period called the Sauveterrien. This is called an eponymous site. The term Sauveterrien refers to flint knapping industries dating from the Mesolithic period, that is to say around -9,000 BC. This is a very interesting period for those who study prehistory, because it is a transitional period between the Paleolithic and the Neolithic, often little studied. At the time, very small arrowheads (microlith) were made. What is tiny is often unimpressive, and does not attract crowds. The fact remains that a nice museum will teach you more about this period, and about the village. Sauveterre also has, in addition to its museum and its site, a very beautiful fortified castle, beautiful squares and streets, as well as a few shops.
