The lively village of Tardets is worth a stop to enjoy the local atmosphere. The central square is very charming.

Located at an altitude of 630 meters, nestled in a green setting surrounded by gorges and peaks, the village of Sainte-Engrâce is a charming mountain village in the Basque Country. In addition to its 11th-century Romanesque church, don't miss the famous Kakuetta Gorges or the sublime Verna Cave.

Very pretty, typically French village square! I went there in the evening, I would have loved to stop there but the clocks are running out :( I'll come back.

An authentic Basque village, Mauléon-Licharre is considered the capital of espadrille. It is also that of the small province of the Basque Country, Soule. The heights of its old town are separated from the lower town by the course of the Saison. In this part we find the Andurain de Maytie castle.

Entering the Kakuetta Gorge, you follow the Kakuetlako torrent along high rock walls. At the entrance you will also find toilets and a cafe for meals.
