Small, pretty town located on a steep hill. Lots of small shops and restaurants, here you can find almost everything you need.

Rather rolling gravel track (there is a small part of bitumen in the middle) which offers a magnificent panorama of the summer pastures with the Monts du Cantal on the horizon. Access from the col de chamaroux is a little more technical in gravel but it is quite playable. The reward at the top is a postcard landscape!

Murat is a very authentic small town.

This beautiful waterfall breaks the uniformity of the Cézallier plateaus. Nestled in a small, protective cirque, the waterfall is accessible via wooden stairs. It's an ideal place to take a break. Not far away, on the neighboring plateau, an archaeological dig has uncovered a Gallo-Roman sanctuary dating from between 52 BC and 746 AD. An explanatory panel is available to provide full details of the history and interpretation of the discovery.

Due to its location on the eastern edge of the Monts du Cantal, it is a place of longing. You can easily get there by train or leave the car at the campsite for a few days. In the central square there is everything you need: market, cafes, bakery, shops and souvenirs.

Pretty city ideal for cycling, mountain biking, or gravel... At the foot of the Cantal massif...

Incredible Monts du Cézallier: a breathtaking view in all directions. It's worth it, but what a reward!

A medieval fountain The fountain of Bredons dates from the Middle Ages. It is located a little before the priory of Bredons. It is installed on a rectangular column. On one of its sides we can see the sculpture of a griffin in the form of a human mask. Its style brings it closer to the Romanesque tradition. The water that feeds it comes from the mountains. A monastery would have been founded in Bredons in the 11th century and the fountain would then have been attached to the monastic church. It would seem that following a fire on the premises of this monastery in the 18th century, the fountain was moved by the inhabitants to the location Current.
