Beautiful little place with public drinking water, church, town hall, church and sculptures

Very pretty greenway!

Perched on its rocky promontory at an altitude of 360 meters, Fanjeaux dominates the Lauragais meadow. The medieval city has been occupied since the Gallo-Roman era before becoming a powerful castle village in the 12th century. Its old neighborhoods bear witness to its rich historical heritage.

Small seats and some information about the Bahntrassenradweg, the beginning is a bit difficult with loose split, later it gets better. Overall nice bike path in a beautiful landscape with a view of the Pyrenees.

Beautiful landscapes, very different surfaces. Forest roads, asphalt, concrete and grit. The latter rides very modestly uphill. With a few exceptions, everything on an old railway line. There are a few rest areas directly on the Bahntrassenradweg, but no drinking water fountains.

Beautiful bridge and beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the surface of the Bahntrassenradweg changes again and again along its entire length

This path connects the UNESCO landmark Canal du Midi (South Canal) to Montsegur (place of the last resistance of members of Cathar religion) and I rode it on my way to Santiago de Compostela as part of Voie du Piemont Pyrineen (Arles to Saint Jean Pied de Port) Best regards Bignami Paolo
