These dramatic cliffs rise above the picturesque village of Baume-les-Messieurs as you approach, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Jura landscape, characterised by lush greenery and deep valleys.

Nice little castle in the town, the park looked a bit overgrown.

Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Château-Chalon stands as a true “lighthouse of the Jura” from its rocky promontory. Between cultural heritage, gastronomy and majestic vineyards, this small village is full of treasures.

This castle has passed from family to family since 1444. Since 2018, the castle has been undergoing work and redevelopment by its new owners. You can now find a restaurant and a small exhibition of furniture and paintings on its premises.

A small museum on the history of the essential Jura cheese

The Voie Bressane is a beautiful cycle path that vaguely follows the Blaine valley. It is a pleasant route to take to avoid traffic jams.
