Four options are available, depending on your climbing experience: Les Contreforts (K3/K4 / C/D): Ideal for experienced beginners – shorter and technically manageable. Plein Vide I (K5 / D): Challenging with small overhangs and a climb through a rock opening. Plein Vide II (K6 / E): Extreme – long overhangs, very exposed, with few rest stops. Only for experienced ferratas! 🏞 View from the summit A fantastic panoramic view awaits you at the top: To the south: Moléson, Dent de Broc, and the Gastlosen. To the north and east: the rolling hills of Gruyère. On a clear day: distant views as far as Lac de la Gruyère and the Vaud Alps 🚠 Access & Duration Take the gondola from Charmey to the Vounetse mountain station Access to the starting point takes approximately 15 minutes Climbing time depending on the route: 1–2 hours, return trip approximately 45 minutes Total duration: 2–4 hours 🎒 Equipment & Safety Required: Via ferrata set, helmet, climbing harness, gloves Entry fee: CHF 4 per person (plus gondola and rental equipment, if applicable) Season: May to October (depending on weather and gondola operation) Caution: Retreating during the route is almost impossible – a good assessment of your own abilities is important!

Unfortunately, the summit climb was difficult at the end of May due to the snow-covered Kaiseregg Pass. In spring, with persistent snow, it's only recommended for experienced and/or well-equipped hikers. Crampons and poles were a must for me!

Between the Cheval Blanche and the Hochmatt, this beautiful ridge path with the best panorama leads into the Bulle plain and into the Alps.

Patraflon is a grassy summit in the Friborg Pre-Alps which dominates the Valsainte Valley. It offers a magnificent view of the Swiss Plateau and the Jura. Its wide and regular slopes make it an ideal destination for running, especially in spring and autumn. You can start from the Pré de l'Essert farm and follow the Essert valley, then climb to the summit of Patraflon via a wooded ridge. You can also extend your route by traversing to the nearby summit of Gros Brun, which requires some climbing on the northwest ridge. Enjoy the landscape and tranquility of this little-known region.

Witnessing the sunrise up here is simply amazing!

The smoking of the stream and the various bird songs at the beginning of the path bring a calm atmosphere.
