The wooden bridge over the Lieser River at this point has a few steps on the side (street) opposite the villa. There's no ramp (side ramp). Getting up there with a heavy e-bike is almost impossible without extra effort (removing batteries, taking off luggage, etc.). Even then, you'd probably have to use the e-bike push assist, and we haven't tried how well that works. Conclusion: Don't plan an e-bike route towards the villa that includes this bridge. PS: The opposite direction, from the villa across the Lisa River to the street, could work, but that would also be a "heavy" undertaking in my opinion. PPS: Simply carry bio-bikes up on your shoulder 😊

The Roman villa of Wittlich, built between 150 and 200 AD, was inhabited during the heyday of the Trier region. It is one of the largest estates north of the Alps.

The viewing point with table and chairs invites you to take a break, but the highway noise is disturbing.

Coat of arms of the municipality of Altrich The municipality of Altrich was granted the right to use its own coat of arms on April 29, 1971. The coat of arms is divided into red and white. In the front half, the white St. Andrew's cross symbolizes the church patron, St. Andrew, who already appears in the old court seal from 1764. The back half with the three red balls is reminiscent of the former knightly family of Altrich from the 14th century. The colors red and white refer to the historical affiliation to the Electorate of Trier.
