The Somme valley is a wonderful place for cycling. The Somme is partly a canal and a canalized river. Where the Somme can still flow beautifully in its curves, there is also a lovely landscape with dreamy banks and sometimes swamp-like landscapes. France and its beautiful castles; there are also a large number of them on the Somme. Every now and then you will see a beautiful manor house.

n the Middle Ages there was a castle in Dromesnil. In the 15th century it was rebuilt after the Hundred Years' War. Demolished in 1750 and replaced by the present building in 1752. Dromesnil Castle was built in the mid 18th century and remodeled in the 19th century. The Lordship of Dromesnil was established as a margraviate for the Hallencourt family, who owned the castle until 1749.
