Wirzweli is a great place for family outings. Some beautiful hikes can also be started from here. For example, a hike over Ächerli to Stanserhorn or Arvi.

The direct route from Loch to Arvigrat is recommended as an ascent rather than a descent in wet conditions, as it consists entirely of roots, which are notoriously slippery. The descent isn't dangerous even in wet conditions, but it's certainly not fun! (From experience 😉)

A magnificent panoramic view offers deep glimpses into the Engelberg and Sarneraa valleys, as well as far-reaching views of the Alpine foothills and range. This extends beyond the Nidwalden, Engelberg, and Obwalden peaks, far into the Bernese and Wadden Alps, and even to the Jura.

From the Buochserhorn, you can enjoy wonderful views of Lake Lucerne, Mount Piltaus, the Stanserhorn, the Engelberg Valley, and many more. The climb from Niederrickenbach is highly recommended. Unfortunately, the Buochserhorn is always busy, even off-season. So you're rarely alone at the summit.

To get to the top you have to carry your bike about 200m! The way down is rideable for experienced bikers and in good conditions!

In winter, the view of the Nidwalden valley and the settlement is magical.

The 10-minute cable car ride from Dallenwil up to Wirzweli drops you off in a magical mountain paradise. Take a moment to enjoy the incredible views before heading off on a hike. Wirzweli is also known as the Witches' Mountain, and there are two Witches' Trails to discover.
