This complex is ideally located on the banks of the Rhône, a veritable plant artery and a vital vein for migratory waterbirds. This set of exceptional natural environments on the scale of Geneva and Switzerland is recognized as being of national and international importance. Trails have been created and panoramic observatories allow you to follow the life of the ponds without disturbing their inhabitants. Proceed carefully when cycling.

Chancy is the westernmost commune in Switzerland! It's a very nice place, where there are several cafes and shops. Be careful, they may be closed on Sundays, so check carefully.

Avully is a Swiss village bordered by the Rhône and the fields. There is also a bakery there.

Small beautiful trail that can also be mastered with a trekking bike. The descent is a bit hidden, behind the dam at a parking lot. With a lot of luggage, the stairs become a challenge. A "must" on the viaRhona.

On the Rhône Cycle Route, just before the French border, there's a beautiful nature reserve. The railway bridge before La Plaine is also special: there's a footpath underneath. The path is a bit rough, though.

Easy hike with lots of places to stop for a picnic - pretty villages of Avully but especially Cartigny where excellent cheese can be bought from farm and great coffee at the cafe. a couple of nature reserves to walk through also.

The "Teppes de Verbois" is a varied nature reserve with a few opportunities to rest away from the hustle and bustle of Geneva. Here you can also do a little extra round, just to see what there is to discover.
