The banks of the Savinja are overgrown almost the entire way along the river, which offers the animals good protection. As a result, it is quite possible to see wild animals here.

Enjoying lovely views across Lake Šmartinsko jezero, Kavanara Panorama (Panorama Cafe) is the perfect place to enjoy a brew after a hike along the shore. It's possible to walk here from Celje, or there's parking nearby too. Keep your eyes peeled for the Skondonga, a legendary and benevolent creature that is said to live in the lake.

There are obviously places in Slovenia where at least apparently time has stood still. For stressed-out city dwellers, this would be the right place to relax in an informal way - pure nature and unbelievable peace!

The walking or hiking route on the northern bank of the foot Savinja leads past fields with picturesque views of quaint farmsteads behind which rise the mountains - an incredibly beautiful landscape!

The villages, which are located on the opposite side of the river from Camping Menina, are incredibly idyllic - old buildings dating back to around 1890 and (presumably) the same old hay barn. Friendly residents!

Chills reaches 1122 m above the sea level and are also called Knapovski Triglav. From the top, in good weather, offers a nice view far and wide. For thirst and hungry belts, the staff at home is located just below the top and easily accessible, from the Podmeje crossing - the regional road Trbovlje-Prebold, where we also find a suitable place for parking. The home is permanently open, except on Mondays. Suitable for young and old in all seasons, and for approach we will need around 1h. Pretty Visited Cottage.
