Surrounded by dense forests and steep cliffs, Lake Pavin is distinguished by its deep blue waters that reflect the surrounding vegetation. This enchanting setting, accessible by a trail, combines perfectly with breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

This summit offers you breathtaking panoramic views of the Auvergne region, with the Chaîne des Puys in the distance. The climb can be difficult in places, but the descent is fast and fun, with many natural features that make your hike exciting.

Beautiful in spring with plenty of water

At Saillant, the Couze Chambon meets an old lava flow, creating a pretty little waterfall 7m high. Going up the Couze towards Sapchat also offers lovely moments in the undergrowth.

The church of Saint-Nectaire dominates the town on Mount Cornadore. It was built between 1146 and 1178 and is dedicated to Saint Nectaire, who was the evangelizer of Auvergne.

Taking a step back from Chautignat allows you to admire the emblematic Murol castle perched on its rocky spur in a different way.
