All windows in the chapel were created by the master glazier "Victor HÖNER de Nancy" in the second half of the 19th century. Two further windows by Victor HÖNER (1840-1896) are in the > Église Priorale Les Sept Roses < located below the chapel. There are also eight windows from his work in maisonMazerand, 13 km away; these are unusual in that they do not depict religious motifs. Rather, these are bar scenes, which are probably a depiction of paintings by the Dutch painter "David TENIERS the Elder" (* 1582 in Antwerp; † July 29, 1649).

True gateway to this beautiful area mixed with forest and elevation, it offers hikers all the necessary amenities for refueling and resting. Don't miss: From the old village station, you can take a tourist train that takes you back to the previous century, when logging and the resulting freight brought life to the valley.

Saint-Quirin developed around a former priory which notably owned the abbey of Marmoutier. It was then a place of pilgrimage. Its history has endowed it with an important heritage which has earned it the status of one of the most beautiful villages in France. The church and the Chapelle-Haute are its most beautiful jewels. Its environment is not left out either. In the heart of the country of Sarrebourg, the village is located in a pretty wooded setting at the beginning of the Vosges.

The forest railway from Abreschviller follows the red Saar through the valley to Grand Soldat. The ride is feasible in any weather, there are open and closed cars. In addition, for a surcharge, a ride in the "Orient Express" possible, a closed car modeled after the famous namesake. More details, times and prices can be found here: http://de.train-abreschviller.fr/train-a-vapeur/ PS: In good weather, it is recommended to extend the stay in Grand Soldat (usually 30 minutes) for hiking and take the next train for the return journey!
