There are several female sculptures throughout the city. Saarburg clearly places value on public art projects. Sculptures are specifically acquired to enhance public spaces, highlight cultural partnerships, or make art tangible. The nude (the naked human body, often female) is a central theme in art history—it represents beauty, form, movement, and naturalness. When a city supports art that explores classical themes, such figures often appear.

The window "La Paix" ("Peace") was completed in 1976. Peace – symbolic, biblically inspired. In the context of openness to the east, the window functions not only as a closure of the opening, but as a source of light, as a space open to the light. Work on it took two years. Dimensions: approximately 12 meters high x 7.5 meters wide. Weight approximately 900 kg. Chagall designed the window, which was created together with the stained-glass artist Charles Marq in the Atelier Simon in Reims.

The Sarrebourg water and swimming area, formerly known as L’étang Lévêque (or Lévêque Pond), changed its name in 1984 and became the municipal pond. A change that was made in 1984, when the town hall bought the land that now serves as a recreational area from a private company. The loop walk around the pond is worth it.

This impressive canal bridge crosses the Saar River between the villages of Hesse and Xouaxange, in Moselle. Built of metal, it is a testament to 19th-century civil engineering and is part of the region's river heritage. It is a peaceful place, steeped in history, offering magnificent views of the valley and surrounding landscapes. 🚶♂️ Accessible on foot or by bike via the towpath, it makes an ideal stopover during a stroll along the canal. Boats are sometimes encountered along the bridge, adding a lively and authentic touch to the place. 📸 An original photo spot, perfect for lovers of industrial heritage, hiking, and relaxing by the water.
