Reaching the summit at 530m above sea level is not easy, especially after rains. The views are spectacular on a clear day. At the foothills of Knockanuarha HIll, stand an important local heritage project, the partly restored farm cottage. This farm house and others in the area were abandoned during the great famine.

Set within the beautiful managed forest is the 16th century Dromore Castle. The woodland and lakes north of Ennis has many trails for you to explore.
