Cormicy is a small commune located in the Grand Est region, in the Marne department, in northeastern France. Cormicy has a population of around 1,500 and is known for its history, particularly linked to the First World War, during which it was severely damaged. Today, the village retains a rural charm, with its historic buildings, churches and surrounding vineyards.

It is a historic building rebuilt in the 20th century after being destroyed during World War I. The church combines elements of Gothic and modern architecture, with stained glass windows that add a touch of beauty to the interior.

The Cormicy vineyards extend gently over the hills, creating a panorama of rare beauty, especially at sunset, when the vines take on golden hues. These vineyards, an integral part of the Champagne region, give the landscape a serene and picturesque atmosphere, making Cormicy an enchanting place for lovers of nature and good wine.

This portion of the Via Francigena winds through the heart of the Hermonville vineyards. Pinot meunier, pinot noir and chardonnay are grown here to make champagne.
