Einhausen goes back to a Celtic settlement that must have been here, as grave finds near the motorway prove. However, it was not officially mentioned for the first time as Egenenhusen until 1151. Einhausen was almost wiped out in the Thirty Years' War. Only 4 of 60 families remained. For hikers, there is a particular attraction in Einhausen to explore the church fortress, which can be entered even if the gate appears to be locked. The first church in Einhausen was built in 1369. Information panels provide insights into the interior, as well as the historical burials and ancient grave goods.
