The Breitenstein is a 1661 m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Chiemgau Alps, over which the border between Bavaria and Tyrol runs.
The summit of the Breitenstein is about 1.3 kilometers south of the Geigelstein (1808 m). Like this one, it is located between the Prien valley in the west and the Tiroler Ache in the east.

Beautiful summit with a rustic summit cross. Beautiful views, for example to Geigelstein, the valley of the Tiroler Ache and above all to the Wilder Kaiser.
A nice tour is crossing a double summit: from the Priener Hütte first over the Geigelstein, there an exciting descent to the Breitenstein, and from there back to the Priener Hütte or over the Wuhrsteinalm into the Achental.
